Matheo Fernandes

Matheo Fernandes is a Brazilian director working across narrative film, fashion, and commercials. He came to filmmaking through anthropology, studying how different cultures tell their stories through food, ritual, and everyday life — a background that still defines his cinematic language, one rooted in observation and human presence.

That same instinct shapes how he approaches brand work. For Matheo, the idea lives in the honest interaction between a character and the world around them: a product earns its place simply because someone genuinely uses it. The result feels relatable, real, and emotionally grounded.

Recently named New Talent in Direction at Ciclope Latino and awarded Bronze for New Director of the Year at the Shots Awards, his work has also been recognized at Cannes YDA, the Clio Awards, the 1.4 Awards, the FilmLight Colour Awards (EnergaCAMERIMAGE), Berlin Commercial, the Berlin Fashion Film Festival, and Director's Library.
